Adios 2011!

So 2011 - You happened so quickly. Some might say you practically flew by. I wanted to let you know how much you meant to me!

You've been:

1. A year full of ginormous risks that ended up pretty good.
2. A year that reminded me of the great support I have around me.
3. A year that let me open my wings and fly solo.
4. A year full of goodbyes.
5. A year of up and down emotions.
6. A year to remind not to take things for granted.
7. A year to make new friends.
8. A year of seeing beautiful things.
9. A year full of fresh air and new experiences.

Thanks 2011. I have enjoyed the majority of the past 12 months and I am looking forward to 2012 with many hopes and dreams. I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year's Eve and I will see you after the ball drops.

I got this idea from How Sweet It Is and I liked it so much I copied it :)

A week away does wonders

It's been a whole week since I last posted and I think that may be the current record for time elapsed between posts. I think that this unintentional break really helped rejuvenate my passion for blog writing because as I traveled home today I was brainstorming ideas for blog posts and I am going to start working on them tomorrow. The break happened for many reasons; some happy, some not so happy. This past week has been an emotional roller coaster for me and I need a day or two to decide how much of it I am willing to share on my blog.

I will tell you that my Christmas wishes came true and I got nearly everything I asked for. I am spoiled! I will also tell you that my cat was very excited to see me when I came home today. She is spoiled! I am also going to say that 2012 will be here in a day or two and I think it is going to be a darn good year.

I am also pretty sure that December might be the month with the most engagements because I have 6 friends who got engaged this month. I am also sure that upper respiratory infections are not fun and one should not haul a 50lb suitcase up 5 flights of stairs with said upper respiratory infection. I would like to say that my trip home to Florida was amazing, but it wasn't the vacation I had hoped for. I would also like to say that my travels home today were perfect with no delays, but that too would be a lie.

Now that I have thrown out some randomness; I am going to get to bed tonight and then tomorrow I will start working on those blog posts I mentioned earlier.

P.S.- I haven't been checking my blog reader either and I have over 500 new posts. You guys were pretty busy this week.

It's OK Thursdays

Today is Thursday, which means tomorrow is Friday, which means that I am going back to Florida for Christmas tomorrow!

SO let's break it down:

It's OK:

that I am excited that the PTA is throwing us a holiday breakfast this morning and I had to wake up early to get to school early.

that I had to pack Summer clothes to take with me to Florida tomorrow. (It's going to be a HOT Christmas, why doesn't anyone create a song about that?)

to have sparkly red nail polish.

to be uber excited about a Christmas gift you bought someone because you know they have no idea and they will be excited about it too.

that I have been sick all week. It will not be OK if I am still sick tomorrow.

that this time of year lends itself to holiday bonuses.

to walk around singing a song and then realize that your IPOD isn't even on.

to have just found the show Homeland and love it.

that the Dexter season finale made me say "WOAH" out loud.

that my cat is going to miss me for 6 whole days.

that I have bought a piece of chocolate everyday this week. Seriously it is. OK, I just tell myself that.

that my Mom gave me a list of things I have to buy and bring home with me; it includes bagels, rolls, and apple turnovers. She says it has something to do with the water up here.

to be excited about Christmas even if I am 24,  because I will get to see my family and friends.
