Today's topic is "How do you celebrate the Holidays?" I had some difficulty deciding how to describe *MY* Christmas. I feel like everyone does things differently, and for the most part I have already showcased our traditions, treats, and favorite movies! So instead, I am going to share with you the plan for this Christmas because it is a little bit different than past years.
For the first time I am having to fly home for Christmas which makes me feel super awesome. "Oh yeah, I fly home on the 23rd after work." I used to get jealous when friends from college had to fly home when I only drove, now I get to take in on the luxury of holiday flying.
Secondly, My Mom and her fiance are having a combined Christmas for the first time. That means my Mom's kids, her fiances's children, and lots of grandchildren. This will be the first time that I can remember when Christmas morning won't be all about me because let's face it, a 24 year old in flannel PJ pants getting excited about fuzzy socks is just not as cute as a 3 year old in a Spongebob footie PJ. I get it, I just have to cope.
Third, my grandparents will be spending Christmas with the clan and that in itself is a Christmas miracle. Let's hope that the Christmas spirit flys freely during those few days. Or I might spike the punch.
Fourth, We are going Christmas caroling and I am nervous. I can't sing, but let's hope my voice gets drowned out by that spiked punch.
Lastly, it will be my first visit home since I moved and I am looking forward to having that comfort zone. I need some of my Mom's home cooked food, my sister's sarcastic jokes, and a day when I can go outside without a jacket.
