If I had to choose one food that I could not live the rest of my life without, it would be ice cream. I don't know where the love first began, but it really is one of my favorite foods.
There are a few things that I am picky about:
Soft serve vs. Scooped - They both have their benefits and downsides. Soft serve ice cream is creamier, but can only be bought at stores and restaurants. Scooped ice cream offers a larger flavor variety, but it never sits on a cone as well as soft serve.
Sprinkles vs. jimmies - They are called sprinkles. Case closed. I don't even understand the term jimmy or why you would want that SPRINKLED on your ice cream. Rainbow sprinkles are the greatest invention.
Ice cream with lots of toppings vs. plain - I prefer my ice cream to have very few ingredients. I like simple flavors like strawberry, coffee, or chocolate. I've never been the type of person who liked rocky road ice cream with hot fudge, marshmallows, and whipped cream on top. It's a personal preference.
Frozen yogurt vs. Ice cream - They are different. Very very different. One is delicious, the other can be too tart and make me cringe. You take a guess at which I prefer.
Ice cream in drink form - I'm all for it. I love milkshakes, blizzards, mcflurries, whatever else you want to call ice cream mixed with candies and milk. It is really amazing. My all time favorite ice cream drink combination is a root beer float. I could drink/eat one daily if they had zero calories.
I am not an ice cream fanatic, but I do consume my fair share of the creamy, cold, dessert. In many different forms and many different places. When vacationing, I research the best places to eat ice cream and have frequented more ice cream joints in other cities then I care share.
There is nothing quite like a soft serve vanilla cone with rainbow sprinkles.
